A very interesting experience. The park is very small, and hidden among the back roads of Franklin County. There were very few people there, and they quickly left, leaving the park to ourselves. The Monument is very interesting, and gives the park (which already has an eerie feeling from the massive pine trees blocking out the sky) an even more mysterious feel. We were planning on eating lunch under one of the pavilions, however, many of the tables were rotting, and the place doesn't seem to be the best up kept park. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by and spend some time learning about and remembering one of America's most forgotten (and least liked) presidents.
