Pennsylvania Department of Corrections

They say it was built originally as a College which was retired into a women's prison. I knew a girl who's friend did time in there & said mst girls desired to be transfrr'd here than any other prison in PA b/c its not your run of the mill "west coast" styled prisons they NOW build(super restricted) & not like those older prisons which were designed like human "dog cages", both of which have alot of prisons as "23 & 1s"(ie., 23hrs a day in a small cell with other lawbreakers & 1 hr to either shower, OR use the phone OR shoot a basket ball[nvr enough time 2do both/all] all options INDOORS & ppl living like this for YEARS EVERYDAY those same painful restrictions). So for that, I believe ppl even in jail deserve at least SOME dignity as being in a cage for YRS w/a painful conscience is fair justice enough imo, unless u wanna bring back the death pn'lty 4the mst hideous crimes(I can undrstnd victim's desires too). But pain w/dignity is justice enuff imo, as it lowers the recidivism rate of more crime out of an ex-con when bck on our streets(& most WILL be bck!). Rem'ber, ppl are SENTENCED to prison AS punishment not FOR it(the more CIVILIZED a nation the more they treat ALL ppl w/DIGNITY, even their lawbr'krs). This isnt N.Korea u know & prisoners have INNOCENT family membrs too who suffer all those yrs w/them. I PERS'NLLY know both sides of being victimiz'd(robbed &beaten) AND having a fmily mbr suffer & that suffr'ng WITH them thru their all their struggles too.
