How can these scam artists still be in business despite all the bad reviews? It was deja vu and PTSD all over again while reading all the horrible things these Meineke center has done to people. I didn't get all these warnings before taking my car there. I was passing through the town when my lights came on. These reviews are clearly not enough to protect the masses! How can the Meineke corporate headquarters allow this to continue?The stories were as if all the reviewers were there with me on that day. Right from being shouted at when I tried to drive into the garage, to jacking up my car and draining the oil before being told I would owe $2,000 for all the work my car needed! I just came for an oil change and the guy at the front scared me straight, saying that my car will likely breakdown soon if I didn't get all the work done! I don't know how I was gullible enough to fall for this even when I felt deep down in my guts that something was off about this guy. He was so rude that I was shaking after the encounter. I met the scum of the earth in these people! Going back to retrieve my bag from my jacked-up car in the garage, one of the technicians was smoking something from a metallic, gray-colored cylindrical pipe! OMG! The place was reeking of smoke (my car smelled for days after leaving that garage and it wasn't just cigarette smoke).Those guys are on something, no question. I was scared, grabbed my bag and ran out (trying to hide my shock!).He 'reduced his quoted price by $400'- his usual gimmick). I'm glad that I didn't refuse their working on my car. I know I was ripped off, but I am more scared of the reviews saying that they don't put back your tires properly or disconnect something in your car if you refuse to do all the myriad of things they 'recommend' that "has to be done now"! My car was not ready when he said it will be, and (surprise!), it was there for more than 6 hours. I question myself for not RUNNING away at some point despite all the negative 'signs' but I didn't want to risk continuing my journey with the lights on and they had already 'decided for me' by starting to 'work' on my car even before we agreed on the things I wanted done! I am getting tired of reliving this nightmare but I just want to warn anybody fortunate enough to read all the reviews before deciding on getting services there (unlike me), please, please, please, DO NOT GO THERE! I almost never write reviews because I don't have the time, but I will be doing a great injustice if I allow this cycle at this hole of a place to go on. Don't take my word for it, please read other reviews. How can all these people be telling stories of the exact same 'trick' used to rip people off of thousands of dollars at this same location? I complained to the Meineke corporate office after these people ADMITTED that they didn't do most of the things that were included in the work they charged me for, because "it was not necessary but I was charged for them because they are part of the 'package' deal they gave me"! Meineke 'customer service' did nothing! My local car dealership had listed the things included in the service (for much cheaper & without knowing that I had already done it somewhere else). I asked for this 2nd opinion because, like I said, SOMETHING (no scratch that), A LOT OF THINGS about the front, fat, and breathless guy and the technicians inhaling from their 'pipes', sent major RED FLAGS off for me (again, without the benefit of reading all the negative reviews prior to my visit). The funny thing (despite this awful experience), is that this guy and his technician were assuring me that they are above par compared to other Meineke centers. This was in response to my concern when I read a bad review they had printed out and left ON TOP OF THE FRONT DESK! Talk about carelessness! It was obviously not meant for customers to read but they mistakenly left it there! I will appear before any court to testify against these scumbags if someone finally does the right thing and sues them! OMG! Help make this stop! #speechless# #unbelievable# #wrong#
