Bill's Garden View Appliance

Terrible Customer Service. I was referred to Bill's by a friend, who had utilized their services a number of times. I stopped by their store one evening to discuss a problem I had with one of the appliances in my home; my plan was to set up a service call with them to see if it could be fixed and to take a look at what they had for sale, in case it could not be fixed. I spoke with the lady at the front desk who was very helpful, but the problem started when she deferred to another gentleman in the store to setup the service call. My first impression was that he had an attitude and was irritated that he had to listen to my problem and come to my house. It took approximately 20 minutes of haggling with him, answering "did you try this/that?" questions, to even get him to commit to a service call. Finally, he agreed to come by and we setup the appointment. Afterward, I took a look at the appliances they had for sale, and picked out a new, $500 appliance, that I planned to purchase if the old one was irreparable. A few days went by and a gentleman came by my house. My husband said the man looked at the broken appliance but he didn't say anything as to what was wrong with it, only that they would call us. A week went by and they finally called to say that they would contact us in another week because they were going hunting. At this point, it's been almost 3 weeks and they still have not called us back to say what was wrong, or if they could fix it. Luckily, my husband was able to fix it himself a few days ago, so needless to say, we will not be purchasing anything from Bill's, and we certainly will not be paying any invoice we receive for the so-called "service call" they made. I was surprised at the lack of interest they had in keeping our business, considering they are a family-owned establishment in a bad economy. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received and will never recommend them to anyone.
